How to Treat Patellofemoral Pain

The foundation of all successful trials when it comes to treating individuals with patellofemoral pain is some form of exercise therapy. Rest is absolutely contraindicated for patello-knee pain, so I should say absolute rest. Increasing once running cadence can help some and if you increase your running cadence between 5% and 10% over your preferred, it can reduce the patella joint load somewhere between 15% to 20%.
