Direct Instruction Improves Self-Esteem

direct instruction students achieved well not only in basic skills as defined by ABT but also in cognitive skills reading comprehension math problem solving and math concepts. Second direct instruction student scores were quite high in the affective domain suggesting that competence enhances self-esteem rather than vice versa. I think people still think that there's this big academic effect associated with increased self-esteem but there's still no evidence for that so we need to take it with a pinch of salt.
