The Two Pronged Attack on Negative Core Beliefs

So, so what I'm hearing here is there's some fundamental, what I might frame is negative core beliefs that someone has. And it starts to create this, this cognitive distance. So then I'm doing these behaviors to fit this mold, yet doing those behaviors is causing me problems. You have to address the underlying negative core belief. And then also from the other end, kind of from the CBT side of it, I guess the behavioral side of it,. We want to change them. But you're not going to step away from a negative core belief that you've had for decades in a single session.
