How to Calculate Your Protein Needs

The RDA or recommended dietary allowance is set at about 25% higher than average biological requirements. People overestimate how much protein they need, even for people who need higher amounts and those would be pregnant and lactating women. Even in those higher protein need groups, you can still easily meet protein needs through a plant based diet. But essentially, we need about 0.8 grams per kilogram body weight.
