If you're hiding carry over soreness through anti-inflammatory dogs, massage, sauna, heat, whatever, your plan is broken. A ton of sleep is great and a ton of nutritious food is great. The first thing you want to have is like a person who sleeps six or seven hours a night. Those things outrank Advil saunas massage by an order of magnitude. They're just that much better, but they're boring and nobody ever talks about them.
