Sleep seems to be more of a problem for female athletes. Psychopathology was more prevalent in female athletes than male elite athletes. Eating the meal one hour before bed, it lengthens the time it takes you to get to sleep your sleep latency. Avoid those large meals close to bedtime, avoid the caffeine close to bedtimes and alcohol as well.
