Jessica: What are some keys to storytelling to a group that might be skeptical, hostile, or just disinterested? Gary: You really have to understand what's motivating someone to hear the story from you. Jessica: How do you embed a culture of storytelling in an ongoing way for yourself and your team as a practice?Gary: I think there's a big difference between cracking jokes and poignantly sort of not taking yourself seriously. But it can be a powerful way of bringing guard down and opening up the territory.
