The Like Gap: How We Underestimate Our Social Ability
Researchers have found that in the social domain, it turns out that we show a lot of signs of underconfidence when it comes to assessing what other people think of us. It's impossible, but on average, people think they're above average. The same goes for things like morality. We think we're more ethical than other people like we're better people than other people. So all these kinds of non-social mostly things, these sort of activities or skill-based assessments, we tend to think that we are above average.
