What Does Sleep Do to Your Body?

But sleep is actually a very active process. There's a lot of things during sleep that actually turn on to help protect you. And so when you don't get the traditional sleep that you need, the six and a half to eight hours of sleep that each of us require at night, we really disrupt some of the critical processes that occur during sleep.
