Journalling helps people re connect with and get into their body. One of the journalling power work books i have in my store is called take control of your health. I would say one thing they could do is to improve and increase their awareness of how automatically we immediately do something. Rather than rushing off or rushing to judgment, just say, "Isn't this interesting? And don't make any judgment"
