Geoffrey Hinton: Unpacking The Forward-Forward Algorithm
Eye On A.I.
Is the Brain Doing Back-Propagation?
Back-propagation is a way of figuring out how much a change in the weight would make the system have less error. It's easiest to think about for a led net, but it also works for recurrent nets. Jeff: There's no evidence that the brain is doing back-propagated networks. He says if you can divide the learning into two separate phases, you could do one of them online and one of them offline.
