If it has more carbohydrates in it, it has more calories. The caloric content of alcohol is one of the main reasons why it is not optimal to regularly consume. Could it mess up the size of your muscles if you drink alcohol? At higher doses, it certainly does. You have increased muscle protein degradation and decreased muscle protein synthesis when you consume high amounts of alcohol.
