The Cost of Discipleship
The goal of discipleship is to have this kind of secure or established selfhood. And that goes along with Jesus's statement, like love your neighbor as what as yourself,. So you need this kind of corresponding kind of thing fitting together. But if you're working with people who are traumatized, who have less privilege in those kinds of sets, that call to discipleship just doubles down on what they're feeling all the time already.
