Christianity acquired the apocalyptic ideas from Judaism and Christianity stuck with basic apocalyptic categories. Rabbinic Judaism rejected apocalypticism, even though it started out in Pharisaic Judaism. And so that happened within Judaism, but it didn't happen within Christianity.
