The larger your working memory capacity, which meditation actually expands. And so does taming distractions because you have fewer things that are vying for your attention in the moment. When our mind is wandering, we think about our future goals 14 times as often as when we're focused on something. So this mind wandering mode, if we deploy it well, especially if we expand our attention through things, taming distractions, noticing these thought patterns, meditation, mindfulness, we really do get that time back in these productivity benefits.
