The Systematization of Hell in the New Testament
The concept of hell or divine punishment in the afterlife is not yet systematized. It's kind of ambiguous it's inconsistent people are making use of different ways of thinking about it to the degree it serves their rhetorical goals. Hell comes together from a number of different streams of traditions that begin inconsistently and don't really arrive at what we understand today about hell until well after the bible has been completed.
