The Role of Inclusion in Special Education

Inclusion was an answer to how do you deal with the fact that putting people in a separate classroom is segregation, but to integrate them into the classroom doesn't work. This has been perverted to a phrase you've probably heard that you can bring your whole self to work. And so you can also see how inclusion is from kind of its very earliest manifestations, really a call toward collectivism. It's no surprise that it showed up in special education work and research.
