Why Do Teens and Young Adults Experience Sham?

There seems to be a really strong correlation of adolescents, late early adulthood and old age. People over the age of 70 seem to have the high propensity for experiences of shame. The identities of teenagers and young adults seem to be a little bit more fluid. Men and women experience shame at exactly the same levels but manifest very differently. For men it is a lot more to do with their feelings of masculinity versus for women it does seem to be an image issue. We are essentially whittled down in childhood where we are essentially soaking up knowledge from all ages.
