The three largest metropolitan areas in this country produce 18 % of our g d p. At the union square greenmarket in the heart of new york city, the idea of buying local is pretty much a gospel. If you really want to help the environment, lay off cow products. The kangaroo, for instance, doesn't emit mething. It's meat, a little rubbery, but tasty.
