Is There a Difference Between a Succeeding Reader and a Struggling Reader in Your School?
A school in one area might have 40% of pupils that we think are struggling, and another school it might be 5%. In pragmatic terms, the reality usually is that you've got a certain amount of resources when it comes to supporting pupils. It's definitely true to say that the research done by Hasbrooke and Tindall that looked into an expected fluency rate was done in the United States. But I like to think that that kind of information is going to be disseminated into the public sooner rather than later.
