How to Diagnose a Knee Injury

One of the really important things when you examine somebody's extremity is to actually examine their normal side. Males are tighter than females, older people are tighter than younger people. So feel normal, know what it's like. The acute ligamentous exam that we're doing in the emergency department is not to diagnose ACL or MCL. Those can be figured out down the road. We just want to know is the knee stable or not.
