Machine Learning Funding: The Pros and Cons

A lot of this participatory democracy is basically a selection effect for people who have little productive things to do, or just have an extremely strong concentrated interest. So I'm going to scale back the, or not scale back but return travel back in time, and look at machine learning funding again. What do you like the phenomenon of this?
