Herman Ponser is professor of evolutionary anthropology and global health at Duke University in the US. He says humans are energetic compared to other apes. Our intuitions about how active we feel often don't correlate to how many calories we actually burn. The variant to the genes you carry seem to shape how active you feel like you want to be. It's genes and environment together that kind of shape our bodies and shape how we feel about things as well.
