The owner of the New York Jets fired his coach and general manager after a disastrous season. This left jed york as the primary target of the growing ill will. But paradoxically, there's one constituency that has reason to be somewhat less unhappy: The ownership. Unlike corporations, these leagues don't face much real competition from upstarts or rivals.
