The Importance of Balance in Training
I would rather recover one week more or 20% longer whatever than not getting enough recovery after a race, after a season. So maybe when we're looking at recovery period, it might be give yourself two or three extra days up to a week after you feel like you're ready again. That will perhaps just let the cycles of recovery complete themselves. You might be on a little bit of a high because you slept well and had a restful weekend. But maybe your body isn't quite fully recovered.
