The Giant Shrine to Gloves

Finance boss John Stegner wanted to show executives how much individual purchasing was costing them. He hired an intern to visit all the factories and collect one item that every factory is buying: work gloves. The interns then figures out how much each factory paid for the gloves and puts a price tag on every glove. They estimate that they can save on the order of a billion dollars over ten years.
