How to Develop an Aerobic System
In order to be competitive or podium position at state, you need to be able to run 70s for 3k and have it be a non shocking thing. We're always trying to push that stable pace with the sympathetic training style of parasympathy. So we do flux work on our athletes where they go from 8-16 times a quarter at 3k effort with razor thin recovery,. starting off at a one to two, or, excuse me, 1 to half work rest ratio.
