Sometimes runners who have spent years exclusively a longer distances, having shorter distance times. They just haven't sharpened for the specific distance of the five k. It's more about theys to haven't spent any time doing actual speed work. If you want an easy win, go to some five k training and run a p r. That is going to make you feel good. I can make you feel confident. And it's probably going to inspire you to even train harder for those longer distances that you care a little bit more about. But i did get an interesting question about more moderate running. Is there any physiological benefits to running at a more moderate pace that might not be considered zone two
