i would say that the core ideas of understanding by design have pretty much remained constant. But, but there have been refinements. We've always believed that transfer was ultimately what we're working toward, but we didn't make it as explicit as we now do. So if a department had three, four, five long term transfer goals agreed to, then is your planning any unit, be it high school physics or a geology unit in eighth grade,. You're going to be looking toward one or more of those transfer goals and trying to build student capacity to do that.
