The repeater protocol is actually quite good at building strength but it is pulled from more of a hypertrophy thing. The compromise that they made there was hey we need to be able to make this more sport-specific. I still love trying to figure out ways to do unloaded hangboarding where you go to smaller holds and single arm hangs.
