The Impact of Foresight on the Future of the Internet

I think what's changed over say the last 15 years is the understanding of the sources of value in these types of systems. And so you, you see intentional efforts to create network effects,. Is there a better model for that being the vehicle for which companies are able to move forward? I'm always thinking like, once people figure hindsight is genius and foresight is completely like half a side to do it.
