Ethernet vs Infiniband - What's the Value of Customizing?

Infiniband was a way to sort of extend Ethernet to support the RDMA concept from Infiniband. I don't believe it involved some proprietary technology still. So when you look at the kinds of custom hard that was being developed, I think there were more interesting things happening in the commodity world than Rocky. We've spent a lot of time talking about the value of customizing and doing just exactly the right thing.
