The Feeling Tone
The theme for this week, week three, is discovering the feel of things. All difficult things that can afflict body or mind have one thing in common - they feel unpleasant. This simple sense of pleasantness of experience is called the feeling tone. It may be clear and obvious when it's very pleasant or very unpleasant. But just as often, the feeling tone is more subtle, but it's always here. Just like an old fashioned mercury thermometer is consistently registering temperature, or a barometer is registering air pressure.
