How to Overcome Hyperventilation
Breathing too much reduces blood flow. The blood vessels in our brain are going to restrict, and then we're not getting the fuel supply of oxygen and glucose to our brain with this over breathing. CO2 in our blood also plays a critical role in determining the acid alkaline balance in the blood. If our body is too alkaline, breathing reduces to allow carbon dioxide to rise; if it's too acidic, breathing increases to offload CO2. That's the science behind it.
