John calvin's theology is profound, and it is at the root of the story we tell ourselves. He believed in the sovereignty of god, which for him meant that there is nothing that we can say or do or live or place as we can go. And that god sees us and loves us, and that's why we're here. But human beings have a weird propensity to choose what is not good for them,. To sin, to close their eyes to the love of god in their own glory and to become harmful and self destructive and destructive of others.
