Alcohol and weed suppress your body's natural ability to fall into the deeper and REM stages of sleep so if you're someone who relies on a nightcap or who relies on that bedtime the joint i don't know that is severely. You might fall asleep faster it might knock you right out but you're limiting how deep and how high quality of sleep you could be getting.
