What Is the Difference Between REM and Non-Rem Sleep?
E e g is a technique which measures the overall patterns of electrical activity across the surface of the skull. It doesn't directly measure brain activity in the sense that it's measuring nurons firing. But nevertheless, it is useful for many purposes, including studying sleep. We start with alpha waves while we're awake and then move on to rem sleep.
