Can You Really Resensitize Your Palate?
These ultra processed foods are really food like substances and they are able to hijack our brain's reward center. They contain high levels of salt, oil and sugar and other things like emulsifiers and additives which are hyper palatable so we keep seeking those. Having a lot of these sorts of foods in our diet does not only affects our gut microbiome but it also can affect our palate. The natural sweetness of a carrot or the crunch of an apple might not quite hit the spot in the same way.
