The Financial Times was a name I first heard in my first job right out of college. In those first few years sometimes I'd sneak upstairs where they were putting together FT Weekend. They were wearing tracksuits and oversized sweaters. The arts editor, she was always just back from lunch with some brilliant playwright. You knew he was done when your hairdryer turned on to dry paint on paper.
