In terms of pre biotic, really don't have to supplement with pre biotics. Those fibres are going to be present in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and legumes. If you eat a diet that is high in microbascessible carbohydrates, high in fibre, then you're getting the pre biotics that you need. When we look at the the application of probiotics, i do think it is probably more prudent to go for a a supplement that has something like the equivalent of a us p label. It's not anything about safety or efficacy. It's just that what's on the label is actually what you're getting.
