The Myth of Martyrdom

Suicide is a way for people who feel so ground down and hopeless to assert some sort of agency over their own existence. There was a famous evolutionary thinker back in the mid-20th century who became kind of obsessed with this idea that he had discovered, I think he got it from Bill Hamilton. And all of a sudden, you've got faith, then you get really famous people that killed themselves. As that kind of expands, does just the, just, just the idea start to creep into people's minds?
