Book publishing for the last at least 50 years has been primarily about pleasing the bookstore, not the reader. But now self published authors are at the same place as giant book publishing houses. You can't influence amazon to get on the kindle. And then we go one step further with kendall unlimited. Pay ten bucks or so every month and you can get all the books you want. Why should i go by a real book, especially if you have no way to reach these people? I think it's a very significant error by not giving authors a chance to build connection with their readers. The way to be most read is to write a book based in scarcity, scarce, paper
