As a gym manager, one of the questions I used to like to ask members was, Hey, what are your goals right now? Now why would I ask that question? Well, first off, it's a great way to open a conversation about fitness and also opened up potential conversations about hiring a trainer or new equipment in the gym. It sounds like a pretty general good fitness question. So there's a lot of value in having fitness goals. But when that becomes the sole motivator and inspiration for your workouts, you tend to run into trouble.
