The Paradox of Mindfulness
Is it fundamentally misguided from either of your perspectives to use meditation to make yourself feel better when you aren't happy? So this cuts to really something that falls out of the definition of mindfulness, which we should probably just remind people what it entails as a matter of attention. Mindfulness by definition is a type of mere attention to character of one's experience, which does not have an agenda. And yet the reason why one is mindful in the first place is implicitly goal oriented: You want to change the character of your experience.
