Hip flexor issue could be preventing runners from getting the hip extension that they need to increase their cadence. As you increase your speed or decrease your pace through using your hip flexers more. It shouldn't feel like the hardest thing in the world, start by increasing your hipflexor strength and work a little bit on that hypno ability - then it will come very natural.
