How Do You Build Community?

If you're not using social media, how do you build community? There is a community of people who care about labrador retrievers. But the person who bred and named the laboratory retriever has been dead for a hundred and 50 years. So you don't have to be there for therre to a community. I want the community itself to support the ideas. That's part of the discipline. It makes me really uncomfortable to be the prize or, to show up in real time... i just make all the stuff up.
