The Value of Stretching for Youth Athletes
There's a decent amount of discourse on the value of stretching right now. I find that with youth athletes if you ask them to stretch particularly on their own it's not likely that they're going to be doing it with the intent that you want them to. So we try to incorporate some range of motion drills exercise, international warm up, for example,. We might do a PVC pipe drop, where they're catching it at a really low range of motion. It's just really a hit or miss type thing with with our population so it's, you know, you got to pick your spot, especially with limited time.
