It's hard to imagine a decent client relationship worth saving where that would be a surprise it seems like ye. If you don't want invision your letter showing up on twitter again, then think about going to a conference or something and just bumping into somebody and being totally fine with it without any serious awkwardness. Yes, you can make really good decisions for your business without being a jerk. What about a notice? What kind of notice to do give a client? It was a good relationship for a while.
