How Do You Know if Your Breathing Speeds Up?
In the first trial, most people will report that the breath has sped up. When it changes all at once, even if it goes from two seconds per inhalation or exhalation to one nd a half seconds, it's more noticeable. We can also just control how much we make the breathing speed opera slow down, like as 20 %, 30% or 60%. So we can show accuracy. And on the low salience trials, people are near chance levels, which is like a one in three guess. But on high saliente trials, when it speeds up all at once half way through, they're much more accurate.
