The first thing has to be focusing on, like, what can we do to help people. The harm that comes to me as a fat person doesn't come because some one calls me fat. It comes much more often because some one refuses to call me fat, and then treats me terribly. And if we can't take direction from fat people in a converse way, at is fundamentally about us.
